The rocking is bad. That’s what I’m conditioned to believe, and what I tell my kid when she’s gone into hour three or four of sitting in her room rocking over and over and over.
In 1986, the 99th U.S. Congress pased the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area Act. I was too young to know what any of it meant but I felt the outcry and anger in the community, and I sensed the fear that permeated. I grew up hearing it called the "fucking Gorge Act" by all but a few.
